Do you own an Excalibur crossbow? Your string needs to be changed, but you are a thousand miles away from the nearest dealer? Don't worry, you can change it by yourself. Let me explain the safest way to do this, step by step.
First, you will need the Excalibur stringing aid. Thread the extremities of the stringing aid on both limbs and centre the string's protective tube. It is important that the stringing aid is adjusted at the shortest length possible. Your crank should be placed on the stringing aid, in the same way as when cocking. Make sure your foot is firmly anchored in the stirrup.
The stringing aid must be securely engaged. Set the safety catch to the "Safe" position. You can now remove your rope and replace it with the new one. Apply the required number of turns so that your new rope is about 1/8 inch away from the string dampeners. Firmly place your foot and hold the crank on one side only. You can now position the safety catch to "Fire."
Activate the anti-dry-fire system. Firmly hold the crank handle on one side and pull the trigger. Slowly release the crank.
