Tikka T3X rifle

By Steeve Gosselin

In 2016, Tikka upgraded its T3 model to the T3X. Let's have a look at the main modifications.

The recoil pad was improved to reduce the impact of the recoil on the shooter. The synthetic stock now has a foam insert within the interior of the rear stock, which decreases stock-generated noise. It is also equipped with an interchangeable pistol grip, allowing the user to modify the grip angle.

A metallic bolt shroud cover replaces the original plastic cover and protects the rear of the firing pin. The receiver has a widened angular ejection port that makes it easier to feed one cartridge at a time.

Extra screw placements were added on the top of the receiver so that you can robustly attach a picatinny rail.

The original aluminum recoil lug was replaced for a steel lug. Finally, the stock grip has a new asymmetrical grip pattern and shape that was specially designed to provide a solid grip in all conditions.
